One of the first in Namibia achieves longevity with expertise and service.
Coming from a long, established, history in the actual rebuilding of trucks – and some absence from the market following the successful sale of his original business – David Barnard and his partner, Gert Steenkamp, are rapidly re-establishing themselves as a trusted and valued participant in the Namibian market.
“We really understand how trucks are built and what a client needs to get a job done,” says Barnard. “That knowledge, coupled with our country-wide service network, is playing a key role in winning trust with our customers.”

Powerstar Namibia estimates that, currently, they service over 1000 trucks and are looking forward to further expanding operations on the sales side, with Powerstar trucks and FT Series trucks the main ranges on offer.
“We also work with Shantui from a parts perspective and are fortunate to have a very reliable supply chain across all three Ever Star Industries brands,” says Barnard. “We have workshops across the country and service agents providing additional support so our footprint is significant.”
Having played a significant role in the industry since 1985, David is optimistic of amplified future growth. “We really value the relationships we have built over time,” says Barnard. “It’s taken a while to re-stablish ourselves in this market but we are very happy with the progress made and look forward to continue delivering service excellence to our customers.”
